I'm a former K-12 music educator with 3 years of classroom choral experience and several years of experience teaching privately to students of all ages in several areas of music (voice, theory, piano, cello). Two major concerns I've run into with young private voice students is the high cost to parents for enrolling their children in quality voice lessons (it's sometimes hard to justify $25/30 a half hour for your 7yr old to learn to sing if money is a concern for your family), and the nerves and shyness young students experience when singing one-on-one with an adult in a private lesson setting.
For this reason, I offer group lessons (small and large group) at a more reasonable cost than individual lessons, with a flexible small group schedule and regular large group lessons. I believe this offers a better financial situation and a better social learning opportunity for young singers who are just starting to explore their singing voices in a more formal setting, and learning technique and sight-reading skills for the first time.
Small group (suggested weekly) - 3-5 students
$10/45 min. lesson per student ($5 for additional students of the same household)
Includes vocalization, sight-reading skills, solo and duet singing, music theory skills, listening skills, solo singing for a small audience
Large group (offered bi-monthly) - 10-20 students
$10/70 min. lesson per student ($5 for additional students of the same household)
Includes vocalization, sight-reading skills, ensemble singing and listening skills, solo singing for a small audience
I teach out of my home in Irving Park/Avondale (near Addison and Elston) but will travel within the city if a group of students central to a host location with a piano would like to fuction as a small lesson group. Please contact me with questions or to schedule a lesson! |
